How to Raise Your Body Temperature (It’s All About the Thyroid)
If you’re currently considering bovine ovary for breast enhancement, you already know that the first step is making sure your body temperature is at a certain level. Okay, to begin getting familiar with your body temperature – you want to measure yourself first thing in the morning to get a reading of your basal body temperature. By first thing, I mean before you run to the bathroom to have a pee, before you make your morning coffee – pretty much before you do anything else that can affect your body temperature. Measure and record.
After a week or two of regular measuring, you’ll have a good idea of whether you have low body temperature or not.
The Second Step to Raising Your Body Temperature
Once you’ve determined that you have a consistently low body temperature, the next thing you want to do to raise it is try to rule out certain causes. The most common cause is hypothyroidism but there are also other conditions that can cause a low body temp, like:
- Kidney and liver diseases
If you are anemic or diabetic, your first course of action should be to consult with your doctor to treat those conditions. Same thing with kidney or liver diseases.
Yet another cause for low body temperature can be mercury heavy metal poisoning – if you suspect you might fall in this category, please get necessary testing and treatment for it. Also, even if it’s not as severe a mercury poisoning, most of us carry a pretty heavy toxin load so incorporating gentle detox tips into your life is a good starting point to unload your body of environmental toxins.
The Third Step to Raising Your Body Temperature
As I mentioned, a body temperature that is consistently lower than 97.8 is a clear indicator of lowered thyroid function, also known as hypothyroidism. This is basically a condition in which the thyroid gland fails to produce adequate levels of the hormones that affect weight, moods, and you guessed it – breast enlargement. If you want to raise your body temperature, the best route is to treat the underlying cause by boosting thyroid function.
There are a few things that can cause hypothyroidism, like:
- Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is the most common natural cause of low thyroid hormone levels. It’s an autoimmune condition when the body develops antibodies that attack and gradually destroy the thyroid.
- Funnily enough, medication to treat hyperthyroidism can result in hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism can also be caused by an iodine deficiency. If this is your case – like, if you’ve been on a low-salt diet for a long time, adding a kelp supplement into your diet will help raise your body temperature.
But if you’ve already tried kelp and it hasn’t worked for you, your low thyroid levels are most likely not caused by an iodine deficiency.
To treat hypothyroidism – and consequently raise metabolism and body temperature – I highly recommend you do the following:
The Medical Route
Go see your doctor for a diagnosis. Your doctor will measure your levels of a hormone called TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and if your TSH levels are higher than normal, you’ll most likely be prescribed a hormone called levothyroxine, or T4.
The Natural Route
If you are not fond of taking synthetic medication and would prefer to go the natural route, you can opt for thyroid-supporting glandular therapy by taking natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) – these extracts are just as effective as standard synthetic thyroid hormone, is an all-natural method and instead of just T4, it provides what your own thyroid should be giving you in the first place: T4, T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin.
Certain supplements also help a lot:
- Take a very potent, quality multi-vitamin that’s particularly high in Vitamins B, D, E, C as well as zinc and especially selenium (at least 200mcg daily), which has been proven to lower the levels of antibodies that attack the thyroid. This one is the best I’ve found – it’s got the full range of vitamins and both zinc and selenium in doses that make a difference (as well as other trace minerals).
- Make sure you get enough omega-3s in your diet – if you don’t, take a high quality fish oil supplement.
- Amino acids are great as they help regulate the thyroid and boost your body temperature – protein-rich foods are highest in amino acids so eat those! Otherwise, add a complete amino acid supplement to your diet.
- Guggulsterone (also known as guggulipid) has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine – it naturally regulates the thyroid and helps keep it optimal.
